PKF Community Day 2012
Our Community Day was held on 8th November 2012. Staff and Partners, were involved in various community activities around the region which aimed to improve conditions for disadvantaged children and enhance the learning environment.
The activities were sponsored by the PKF Foundation.
The 9th edition of the Mater Heart Run was concurrently held Saturday May 26 2012 in Nairobi, Mombasa and Mumias. The 10 km run, held annually, aims to assist children from families who cannot afford the high cost of cardiac surgery. This year, the run aimed to raise Kshs 35 million. Over 2,000 children with heart diseases have benefited from the program since inception.
As a financial advisory firm, we are obliged to enhance financial literacy of the general public. The PKF Foundation donated Kshs 100,000 to Thomas Barnados Children’s Home.
PKF Kenya together with Enn Vents, in recognizing the increased expectation and commitment placed on the woman entrepreneur, have partnered with the Women Entrepreneurship Mentorship Group in Africa.
PKF Kenya partnered with the Banking Awards 2012, the seventh edition of the annual celebration of the achievements of Kenya’s banking sector. These Awards have been held annually since 2006. Their objective is to encourage prudence and stability in the banking sector by recognizing, awarding and celebrating exemplary performers and successes of the sector.
The Kenya Tourism Awards (KETA) is jointly organized by Kenya Tourism Federation and Kenya Tourist Board in an effort to annually celebrate the achievement of the players as well as encourage growth and excellence within the Tourism Industry. PKF Kenya was the Judging Process Partner.
Once again, PKF Kenya were the Judging Process Partner at the 2012 Insurance Awards, the 3rd edition of the annual celebration of Kenya’s Insurance sector. The objective of the awards is to encourage growth, product and service innovation, prudence in risk management and quality in service delivery in the Insurance sector by recognizing, awarding and celebrating exemplary performers, consequently encouraging competition in the industry. The awards aim to draw the attention of the insurance market to the performance of the various players in the sector, consequently encouraging competition. The Insurance Awards gala to award the winners in the various categories will be held on July 18, 2012 at InterContinental Nairobi.
3rd November was declared official PKF Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda Community Day whereby all staff participated in various community activities of their choice in different groups as below:-
PKF Kenya continuously commits to responsible business practices by supporting the community. This year PKF sponsored The Mater Heart Run by donating KES 200,000.The event which occurs every year is geared towards raising funds for heart operations for children from underprivileged backgrounds suffering from heart conditions.
Rotary Club of Kenya Nairobi South have a joint venture with Mrs Wairimu Magugu who donated the land (11 acres) and they offered to build 11 houses for 11 displaced families already hosted there by well wishers.
AIESEC is the world’s largest international association of students which offers a platform for young people to discover and develop their potential to have a positive impact in society.
The Kenya Accountants & Secretaries National Examination Board administers 5 professional and 5 technician exams twice a year of which they hold an award ceremony to recognize exemplary performers in each exam.
Awarded the two best CPA Tax Students Davis Ogega Masanta and John Murigi Wanyeki with a cheque of Ksh 5000 each
